- 7 pineapple rings
- 24 maraschino cherries (approximately; you may use a couple more or less)
- 1/4 cup Butter (melted)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1 yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup Butter (thinly sliced)
Instructions
- Place your pineapple rings in the bottom of your lightly greased 6-quart crock pot. Fill in any gaps with your maraschino cherries.
- Mix together your 1/4 cup melted butter and brown sugar in a small measuring cup or bowl. Spoon this mixture evenly across the top of the pineapple rings and cherries.
- In a medium bowl, cut together your 1/2 cup thinly sliced butter and dry yellow cake mix.
- Sprinkle the cake mix mixture evenly across the top of everything in the crock pot.
- Cover and cook on high for 90 to 120 minutes, rotating your insert halfway through if your crock pot does not cook evenly.
- Serve with a serving spoon or spatula directly from the crock pot.
Notes
Pairs wonderfully with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. For added flavor, sprinkle cinnamon over the cake mix before cooking.
