A comforting and satisfying crockpot lasagna with layers of meat, ricotta, and melted cheese, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Italian seasoning to taste

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, brown the ground beef or sausage with the onion and garlic. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  3. In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese with the egg, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. In a slow cooker, spread a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom.
  5. Layer 3 lasagna noodles on top, then half of the ricotta mixture, a third of the mozzarella cheese, and a layer of meat sauce.
  6. Repeat the layers, finishing with noodles, meat sauce, and the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 360 minutes (6 hours) to 480 minutes (8 hours) or on high for 240 minutes (4 hours).
  8. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes before serving to set.

Notes

For a lighter version, use ground turkey instead of beef or sausage. You can also add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms.
