A warm and comforting homemade applesauce made in a Crockpot that brings back cherished autumn memories.

Ingredients

  • 6 apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1/2 cup sugar (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup water or apple juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Place the chopped apples in the Crockpot.
  2. Add the sugar, cinnamon, water or apple juice, and lemon juice.
  3. Stir to combine.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 360-480 minutes, or until the apples are soft.
  5. Mash the apples with a potato masher or blend for a smoother texture.
  6. Serve warm or store in the refrigerator.

Notes

Use a mix of sweet and tart apples for the best flavor. Experiment with spices for a unique twist.
