A comforting and easy crockpot recipe that combines tender chicken and fluffy dumplings, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breasts
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup carrots, diced
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1 cup onions, diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 package (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the crockpot.
  2. Add the chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, carrots, celery, onions, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 360 minutes or high for 300 minutes.
  4. About 30 minutes before serving, cut the biscuit dough into quarters and drop them on top of the chicken mixture in the crockpot.
  5. Cover and cook until the dumplings are cooked through.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy your comforting meal.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider sautéing the onions, carrots, and celery in a little olive oil before adding them to the crockpot. You can adjust the thickness of the soup by adding more or less broth based on your preference. If you want a bit of a kick, add some black pepper or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
