A warm and hearty dish that combines tender chicken, fresh vegetables, and fluffy dumplings in a tasty broth, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded chicken
  • 1 cup carrots, diced
  • 1 cup peas
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder

Instructions

  1. In a slow cooker, combine shredded chicken, carrots, peas, and chicken broth.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Stir in melted butter and milk until just combined.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the dough mixture on top of the chicken mixture in the slow cooker.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 360-480 minutes or on high for 180-240 minutes.
  6. Serve warm as a cozy dish.

Notes

For extra flavor, sauté the carrots and any other vegetables before adding them to the slow cooker. You can use rotisserie chicken to save time. Adjust the consistency of the broth by adding more or less chicken broth based on your liking.
